What is accreditation?

Accreditation is a widespread way to recognize statistical competence. The accreditation body acknowledges that the applicant has a good statistical competence and experience in applying such competence. Mainly the accreditation testify that the applicant has:

- high level of education in statistical field
- at least five years experience of statistical practice
- ongoing training engagement
- good communication skills

The evaluation procedure is based on documents provided by applicant, proving her/his statistical education, training and experience. The status awarded will remain in force for five years. After this period, a renewal request is necessary.

Evidence of professional development and continuing education is mandatory to maintain the status.
